And here is my video I did for my gear review:
My base weight (everything except food, water and fuel) comes in at 15.8 pounds, which I would like to be a bit lighter, but I’m very happy with this weight.
Next up: I’ll be doing a video on a sample food supply for 4 1/2 days. Stay tuned! — Jen
Oooh, definitely looking forward to the food post!! That’s been one of the things that surprised me a little in reading some of the thru-hikers books — just how *hungry* they got, although of course it makes sense when you think about expending that much energy every day. And trying to carry all the food — very interested to see this next post and video. Keep ’em coming. 😉
I wince when Brian says the word “camping” lol For us that means water, electric, heat, air, fridge, bathroom, radio, etc.
Kudos to you, girl! Can’t wait to follow the adventure 🙂
I used to be like that too. But I think quitting my corporate job, moving to a foreign country, being more one with nature really changed me, as I am SOOOOO super excited about this journey!! I dream about it and think about it 24 hours a day almost! Thanks for following me. 🙂
Did you choose the headband because of the name? 🙂 You’ve done an amazing job of keeping the weight down with all that gear, even though there are a few things Greg will carry. I know every ounce does count, but you are starting out great!
Ha! I’ve ALWAYS loved the Chicabands Headbands – they really stay on your head when you’re working out or running around. I first found them right before I moved to Costa Rica, and one of my first posts was on them (I did a giveaway with the company, they are super cool). And yes Greg is carrying the tent and a few other things, but I am carrying stuff that we will be sharing as well (first aid supplies, etc.)…
Thanks for the gear list
Good luck! Will be following you!
Thanks, Cindy!
